This French-language book is one of the few available histories of the Paris Metro system. Instead of a written history, this book is arranged like a museum exhibit, with photographs and captions. It begins with early transport in Paris (horse-drawn, with and without rails), to the construction and opening of the first Metro line in 1900. It also covers Hector Guimard's kiosks and other artistic design elements. A third of the book is dedicated to Parisien bus transportation.
