It was available because a larger bridge was needed at the Humber. It was originally placed on a northeast-southwest alignment that allowed the single span to be used, and the 1931 realignment used additional spans to the south to allow the street to be made straight.  <br><b>Viewed (this week/total):</b> 0 / 1354
