When the City took over the BMT, these cars were overhauled and placed back in Myrtle and Lexington el services in May, 1941 with NEW YORK CITY TRANSIT SYSTEM painted on the side herald boards. Photo taken sometime between May, 1941 and March 1944 when trains ceased operating over the Brooklyn Bridge.
